Pain Management Injections

Medication is injected into the space around the spinal cord, also called the epidural space. This is used to provide temporary or prolonged relief from pain or inflammation.

Over time, facet joints can wear and become inflamed, or they may cause pain from from arthritis or injury. Injections into the facet joints and/or medial branch nerves can be used to manage severe back pain.

This procedure removes sensation from a painful nerve by killing the nerve fibers that are responsible for sending pain signals to the brain. Radiofrequency ablation uses a radiofrequency current to burn the fibers. This is used to manage chronic pain and can provide a reduction in pain from 6 months to a few years.
